I saw the thread as well and if you fine with that I can give some of my thoughts as well.
vekoN is right that with the usage of OTT and using more modern basses.
But well I have some thoughts or things you can also use to improve the track especially the basses.
The bass is fine dont get me wrong it may sound a little outdate but the bass sounds really good but you lack space and what you can do is automate reverb.... I know people gonna flock and go crazy but you can automate the wet and dry reverb of the bass to fill up the spaces. If you dont want it to sound muddy remove the lower frequencies of the reverb AND use a seperate sub, because its more flexibe to use a seperate sub bass than relying to the riddim bass's sub.
Another thing to fill up your track is layering, layering is key and you should layer but not too much. Layer different kinds of bass in same rythm and compress them to hell and crush them with distortion. Having that distortion is essential to these kinds of songs because you want it to sound HARDDD and what way to make them sound more harder? Distortion, lots of distortion. But EQ them as well because Distortion may introduce new kind of frequencies you might find annoying.
Lastly is experiment, dont just stick on those drag and drop presets that aint gonna teach you something. Tweak your presets, do something new add something new, I know you want to stick to "THAT" sound but if people heard "THAT" sound and "YOUR" sound its gonna pop. If people heard something they can only hear to your music, theyre gonna wait your new releases just to listen to that special sound, this applies to any genre.
So yeah have fun, its just my thoughts tho.
